Geography NEA (Non-examined Assessment) and Superpower Geographies

  • Conducting fieldwork and writing up results using key skills of analysis and conclusions.
  • Examining who the superpowers are and how their power develops over time
  • Assessing the implications of the continued rise of new superpowers.

Term 2

The Water Cycle and Water Insecurity and Superpower Geographies continued

  • Examining the processes operating within the hydrological cycle from a global to a local scale.
  • Investigating the factors which influence the hydrological system over the short and long term scales.
  • Assessing how water insecurity occurs and why it is becoming such a global issue for the 21st Century.

Term 3

The Carbon Cycle and Energy Security and Migration and Identity

  • Examining the processes operating within the hydrological cycle from a global to a local scale.
  • Investigating the factors which influence the hydrological system over the short and long term scales.
  • Assessing how water insecurity occurs and why it is becoming such a global issue for the 21st Century.
  • Assessing the reasons for and the implication of migration in a modern, globalised world.

  • Exploring the roles of various players/stakeholders in the management of key geographical issues.
  • Suggesting the importance of attitudes and actions from a local, to a national and a global scale in addressing key geographical issues.

Preparation for Papers 1, 2 and 3

  • Revising and practicing exam technique for Paper 1 and Paper 2 (Theory papers).
