Wine & Wisdom Report – Friday 22nd November
The evening saw a good attendance of 11 teams pitting their wits against each other and the question master.
Mr Payne won the box of chocolates for the warm-up question but by the looks of his team’s scores over the early rounds they were focusing too much on eating chocolates rather than answering questions.
Bell, Cock & Horne were the early leaders and held this lead for 7 rounds. Ian Bell correctly answered a question about himself; where were you in the first test when your country needed you? Tessell8 (Mathematics department )and Mrs Braby’s teams both enjoyed great success on the table round and Geography, surging past Bell, Cock & Horne into 2nd and 1st places respectively (good use of jokers). Mrs Braby’s team held on to their lead with excellent scores in the last two rounds to secure victory by five points.
At the other end of the scale, Nice but Dim picked up the booby prize. Their team name is half correct, definitely nice but not dim, they just will do anything for the chocolate consolation prize.
My thanks go out to all that attended, both competitors and helpers; over £720 was raised.
Will the England rugby team win the 6 Nations tournament this year? If you need any advice on this matter, please see our part-time barman Mr Deeks who is apparently the England Head Coach. If anyone can get a picture of him in England kit that would take pride of place on my office wall!
Full results shown below, next W & W is calendared for July 4th (unless I get emails asking for one sooner, end March?)
