16-19 Tutition Fund
What is the 16-19 Tuition Fund?
16-19 tuition funding is available to all 16 to 19 providers and is ring-fenced for the provision of 16 to 19 education only. The funding is to support small group tuition (up to 5 students, in exceptional circumstances, up to 7 students) for students aged 16 to 19 in English, Maths, and other subjects where learning has been disrupted. The funding should be used to support the tuition activity above and beyond the education programmes already planned.

How will we be using this fund?
In the first instance, funding will prioritise small group tuition for those students who have not achieved a grade 4 in Maths and/or English. Subsequently, subjects considered for tuition will not be limited to English and Maths and will be identified according to need.
Furthermore, we will have a high regard for the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), who may have experienced additional disruption to learning because of their specific needs and disabilities. Students may also receive support from the tuition fund on the basis of economic disadvantage, in order to assist students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in reaching their full potential.
To summarise, support will be prioritised for the following students:
- Those who are yet to gain a grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and/or English.
- Those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), particularly where they have experienced additional disruption to learning as a result of their specific needs and disabilities.
- Bespoke support for other subjects and learning, prioritising students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
