Year 12 Trip to CCCU - Explore Your Future
21 Year 12 students spent Friday, 10th May, at Canterbury Christchurch University's 'Explore your Future' day. This was a great opportunity for them to discover what life as an undergraduate would be like, and they were able to explore subjects that interested them, such as Law, Performing Arts, Education, Paramedic Science, Natural Sciences, and Film Production.
Students were welcomed to the university by university outreach staff and student ambassadors. Fulston got a particular welcome from two previous Fulston students, one of whom now works at the University and one who is studying there. There were plenty of opportunities to ask questions to current students and lecturers about the practicalities of applying to and living at a university. Students were able to freely explore the beautiful CCCU campus. When asked what they particularly enjoyed responses included "the forensic science criminal investigation activity was great as it was so interactive", "I really enjoyed the games design activity". "I found the science sessions really interesting", and "I loved the chicken burgers available for lunch". This was a great opportunity for our students to engage in, discuss and plan ideas for their own futures.
