Swale District Football
Many of our students play for various teams across the county and subsequent leagues, and, at the end of the season, some try to represent the district based on their school location (Fulston, therefore being Swale district).
For the 23/24 season, from your school, Jake Hoggins (Morrison), Charlie Harvey (Stanhope), Liam Foy (Morrison), Roman Walmsley (Hales) and Callum Maddox (Morrison) have represented Fulston and the district across both County league and national cup competitions, often making up 50% of the starting line-up (some achievement in itself).
Whilst narrowly exiting the national cup after extra time against a Croydon District, packed with boys from Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Brentford, the Swale team bounced back with victory over a strong
Brighton and Hove district team again full of pro academy players, this time with a thrilling 5-4 result in Swales's favour. This victory set up a “Charles Harvey County final” against West Kent District, played at the Gallagher stadium (Maidstone Utd) on Friday 15th March. All the Fulston boys mentioned started this game, and after an enthralling and hard-fought match, Swale won the contest 4-3 with two goals from Jake and one from Liam, securing the title. Impressive in itself but even more so when you consider that Swale by School is one of the smallest, if not smallest, districts in the UK and, as such, has not won this competition since 1985, nearly 40 years ago!
We are so very proud of our lads!
