Students Help Others Supporting Youth Resilience UK
A number of our Sixth Form students were delighted to have been asked to help with supporting Youth Resilience UK CIC at the end of the Spring term. Kelly Walker, from Youth Resilience had asked for help from one of their funders, KFC - yes the chicken meal fast food people. KFC were asking our students to review and shortlist some applications they had received for their current round of funding.
The students watched short video submissions from the groups applying, no one local so the young people helping did not know them. The team then gave a score following the paperwork KFC had provided and then submitted it online.
Youth Resilience do incredible work in the UK - helping youngsters who may have real issues and need in-school support to develop a restorative approach to learning, relationships, changing behaviour and developing resistance.
We were very proud of our students for volunteering and want to acknowledge that they have made a difference to someone else's life.
