Conway Is Bowled Over With An Opportunity To Play With Sri Lanka
Morrison student Fergie Conway is well on the way to becoming a professional cricketer! He has recently been chosen by Kent Cricket to be part of an emerging player group, which is fundamentally an U18 pre-contract cricket group who the talent pathway feel should be pushing for paid adult county cricket. Because of this Fergie was then lucky enough to be given the opportunity to bowl for the Sri Lanka Development touring squad on Thursday 5th May at the Canterbury County Spitfire ground. Mum, Jen, said 'He had an absolutely incredible day, not only did he get to bowl for the men’s Sri Lanka touring side, he also got to train with the Men’s Kent 1st team beforehand - I just am bursting with pride!'
Fergie has been playing cricket since he was 12 and is a bowling all-rounder. During the winter his other passion is for hockey, so he never rests from training throughout the year. Fergie said 'I am really excited for the future. Cricket is my absolute passion and I really hope I succeed in my dreams to become a professional and play for Kent'.
