Fulston Manor School enjoyed a snap election and organised a day of voting on Tuesday 10^th December in their Library. A week of campaigning ensured students and staff engaged in topical and challenging conversations across the students lessons. Miss Holly Jeffery,  who teaches Citizenship, organised the election and said, “It was wonderful to hear the children debating manifestos in the corridors, and bringing their own views into their lessons. The polls opened on Tuesday morning, and students queued up ready to take part in democracy! The children showed a real enthusiasm for our Election Day and it was a pleasure to witness them voting, expressing their opinions and having an interest in politics”.

Over the course of the day, 403 children voted for who they would like to win the General Election. The votes were counted and showed the following:

Spoilt ballots- 6%

1^st Conservatives- 34%

2^nd Labour 31%

3^rd- Green Party- 17%

4^th Liberal Democrats- 12%
