The Big Day in London For Chris And Ben
Two incredibly lucky Year 13 students had the most amazing day in London during half-term. Toby Turpin, an ex-Fulstonian, had gifted Christopher Rayner and Ben Woollett, who are both taking A Level Performing Arts, two tickets to see Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre.
Toby left Fulston a few years ago, having secured a scholarship to Emil Dale Academy, a musical theatre school. Having graduated from there, Toby has now hit the big time as an understudy for Jake Shears, who plays Emcee. Playing such a flamboyant character will not phase Toby who, when performing in Fulston Manor School productions, absolutely stole the shows he was in. Mrs Palmer, Events Manager at Fulston, said "I have seen Toby perform a few times on stage since he left school and was lucky enough to see him in Anything Goes a few years ago. Even then his stage presence was a force to be reckoned with. I would really like to see Toby as Emcee, so I will just keep checking to see when he is on rather than Jake Shears - although I'm sure he is wonderful too!"
17-year-old Chris enthused, "It has literally been the best thing ever. The theatre was awesome, and we were lucky to be upgraded to some of the best seats in the house. Ben and I can't stop smiling, and we can't thank Toby enough for the chance to have been part of this performance." Chris has also seen the bright lights as he was chosen to be part of The Trials at the Marlowe last year. Fulston is watching Chris's Performing Arts career develop with interest.
