On Monday 24^th February, students and staff welcomed 35 young people from Czechia, Estonia, Iceland, Lithuania and Spain, together with staff from their schools, to the very first day of the new Erasmus Project. Mr Matthews welcomed each country in their own language, which was warmly received, and said “This is the third Erasmus project Fulston has been involved in and, in view of Brexit, it is wonderful that our friendships with these countries continues to grow”.  Joining the welcoming committee was Mr Gordon Henderson, MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey and the Mayor and Mayoress of Swale, Cllr Ken Ingleton and Mrs Mick Ingleton. The theme of this new project is to preserve European Crafts and the European visitors will have visited rope makers in Chatham, Fashion labels in London and met jewellery makers along with other British craftsmen and women, by the end of the week. Mrs S Burden, Head of Fulston Manor School said “It was wonderful to see so many new faces in our hall this morning. It promises to be an exciting week and I know our students and staff are excited about being the first country to ‘set the ball rolling’ with regards to the new Erasmus Project”.
