Staff from Fulston attended the inaugural Canterbury Christchurch University Secondary Mentor Awards at Kent Cricket Club in Canterbury on Tuesday 10th July along with various other schools from around the County. The school was nominated and then shortlisted for 3 awards, Commitment to Partnership, Individual Mentor Award and Team of The Year Award. On the day, however, the school won the top prize - Mentor Team of The Year Award as a result of receiving the most nominations by student teachers and University staff in this academic year. Mr Allison, Science teacher and Professional Mentor at Fulston Manor was there to receive the award on behalf of the team of dedicated mentors from Fulston Manor School said “Although I picked up the prize on the day, the award most definitely goes to all of my colleagues as mentors to new teachers. Fulston simply wouldn’t have won without all of the stunning efforts and dedication to student teachers this year”.
