The work of three students has been selected for publication following poetry entries into the Young Writer’s Busta Rhyme competition. ‘ Young Writers’ aims to encourage young people to engage in creative writing and Miss Mulligan ran after school workshops to enable 6^th Former Renee Quartery-Peluoa, Stanhope student James Harvey and Hales student Ellen McDermott to make the most of their creativity. They were asked to write a poem regarding an issue they felt was important. James said “ It was a great competition as I am passionate about creative writing so it was perfect for me”. The competition winners are expected to be announced some time during the summer term so we are watching out for a positive outcome but, even if prizes aren’t awarded, each student is a winner in our eyes.
